Letter, June 6, 1835.

Letter to his sons. Discusses his religious beliefs, his hatred of slavery and that he had heard Illinois did not have slaves, a letter from a Baptist minister in Illinois describing the state, his belief in full immersion, his hopes for coming to America and plans for arriving in Pittsburgh where his sons had been. He also gives them news of family and friends back in Scotland.
